Other info: This page contains some of the assets I created for the game Arc Angels by Stratogon Entertainment, an XBLA shump. Due to space constraints all assets were to only have diffuse textures (no spec/normal), and be limited to 512x512 for the largest and most important pieces.

In January 2009 the 3ds max plugin known as ShaderFX had a free version released. Once released I decided to try making a shader in it with the goal of having shadows, rim lighting, and emmisive map support. When in the material editor the rim lighting can have its color and fallof altered to create a cell-shaded appearance if desired as well. Its application can be seen in the above image, and the node setup here.
